Student 5: Community housing, Queensland

Why did you do the course?
I work in housing on a day-to-day basis dealing directly with clients. I am constantly frustrated by the lack of housing available and constantly having to turn people away. I decided I needed to understand the system in which I work if I am ever going to be able to perhaps change it.

What were the benefits of doing the course? (still in year 1)
I am finding the content of this course to be highly relevant to my work and my future goals.

Did your specific housing skills and knowledge improve as a result?
Most definitely ... I learn something I did not know each time I do a module, and feel my day-to-day understanding and client contact skills have changed as a result.

Where do you think your working future lies?
Still not sure, though I am interested in research and policy.

Other comments?
A big thank you to the lecturers and administration. All queries are answered in a friendly way, efficiently, effectively and appropriately. No questions seem to be a bother. I have found my dealings with these people have helped me greatly and I truly appreciate it.
