Projects - Life in Australia: An International Perspective

Orientation and Academic Enhancement Program for International Postgraduate Students
University of Melbourne

These workshops had a number of objectives, including orientation to both Australia and the University (academic requirements as well as conventions such as class participation). Students were introduced to cross-cultural communication models and ways of understanding difference, and practised a range of cross-cultural communication skills including expressing opinions, disagreeing, and initiating conversations in both supportive and potentially conflictive situations.
