Democracy & Justice Research Flagship - Projects
Social memory and historical justice
Project Code: DP0877630
In this ARC-funded project, we analyse how the victimisation of minorities is publicly and collectively remembered in a range of countries, including Australia, Ukraine, Austria, Germany, Argentina, Peru and Mexico. We explore how memories are contested and how communities actively negotiate the legacies of the past, and aim to identify key factors that enable democratic societies to work towards historical justice.
