The Centre for Leadership and Public Interest executive director is STEVE HARRIS. He has extensive experience in public policy and media issues, and business. He is formerly Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of The Age and Editor-in-Chief of the Herald and Weekly Times. He is a Knight Fellow of Stanford University, and a member of the Institute of Company Directors. He has been actively involved in public interest bodies across children’s welfare, Australia-Indonesia relations, the arts, media and education. He contributes regularly to The Australian, Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

Mr. Steve Harris

The Centre for Leadership and Public Interest’s research director is Professor DENISE MEREDYTH. She is deputy director of the Institute for Social Research, co-ordinating research planning, grant development, postgraduate research and curriculum design. She is published widely on public policy, education, citizenship, cultural policy and digital literacy.

Prof. Denise Meredyth

The Public Interest Journalism Foundation chair is Dr MARGARET SIMONS. She is an award-winning journalist and author of seven books. She heads the undergraduate course in journalism at Swinburne University, and chairs the Public Interest Journalism Foundation. She blogs on journalism and media a The Content Makers, and is a regular contributor to Creative Economy and Crikey.

Dr. Margaret Simons

The Democratic Audit of Australia director is Professor  BRIAN COSTAR. He is an internationally respected author  and commentator. His  principal areas of research are Australian political parties, state and federal politics, and electoral systems and behaviour.  He is a frequent commentator on state and federal politics in the press and broadcast media.

Prof. Brian Costar

The Australian Policy Online managing editor  is AMANDA LAWRENCE. She has a Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Management, following an Arts degree with honors at the University of Melbourne. She has held senior positions with Asialink Centre at Melbourne University, Victorian Writers Centre, Melbourne Festival of Poetry and Readings bookstore. She is a guest lecturer at RMIT, and has given numerous papers on research publishing, Asian book industry and online policy publishing and networking.
