The Centre for Leadership and Public Interest is at the intersection of leadership and public policy.
It recognises that leadership is becoming more complex due to rising connectedness between issues and disciplines, globalisation, technology and rising desire for leadership which produces better outcomes for more people for longer periods.
It also recognises and embraces the power that can be harnessed by tapping into the strengths of academic research and teaching, real life experience of past and present leaders across multiple sectors, and the voices of many through innovative media and forums.
Since its launch in July 2010, the Centre has been developing strategies and building relationships across the 3 Es - education, enquiry and engagement – to help broaden and deepen conversation about leadership.
The Centre will utilise resources of the highly-regarded Institute for Social Research and the Eidos Institute, and the broader resources of the Swinburne University, to develop new insights and approaches by encouraging rigorous reflection and engagement across leadership of government, business, community, education, media and professional bodies.
