Swinburne Cities Housing and Environment (CHE) Program

Housing and Homelessness

The Housing and Homeless area of the Cities, Housing, and the Environment  research group draws together researchers with a common interest in housing and its connections to homelessness, social policy, and the economy.  Current research in the group focuses on;

  • house prices and affordability issues
  • social housing reform 
  • youth and familiy homelessness
  • the role and performance of the private rental sector
  • Housing and workforce incentives 
  • the sustainability of low income home ownership
  • Neighbourhood renewal

The Housing and Homelessness area is also the base for the suite of Social Housing Management courses; Australia’s largest teaching program in the housing area.
