Dr Ellie Rennie
BA, Hons (Melb), PhD (QUT)
Ellie Rennie is a Research Fellow at the ISR, working in the areas of media policy and community communication. In mid-2008 she commenced work on a three year project, The Reinvention of Indigenous Media: Innovation, Expansion and Social Development, funded by the Australian Research Council (Discovery, APD). Ellie is also an associate researcher on Youthworx, which forms part of the program of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation. Her second book, Life of SYN: A Story of the Digital Generation is due for release in 2009. Community Media: A Global Introduction, was published by Rowman & Littlefield (US) in 2006. Ellie is involved in a number of academic and community associations, including the International Association of Media Communication Research (Co-Vice Chair), Open Spectrum Australia (Chair), OURMedia/Nuestros Medios and the Wesley College Institute for Innovation in Education (Research and Advisory Committee Member).
