Mike Pelling

Mike has 20 years' experience with community, private and public sector organisations. He has worked at senior policy and program levels with the Victorian and New South Wales Departments of Housing, has managed community services especially in the labour market, and has established a range of community housing services.

Mike was instrumental in conducting a national social housing industry consultation on training needs (1993–94) which established Swinburne's profile in social housing education and training. He also organised the recent successful professional recognition by the UK Chartered Institute of Housing. Mike is currently on the steering committee for the Australasian Institute of Housing.

Mike's work at Swinburne includes the establishment of the ISR, the successful AHURI node bid and the consolidation of the convergent communications program. He has contributed to the development of other learning programs and on-line capacity, including attracting resources, both within the university and with industry agencies.

He is currently assisting the recently formed Australian Foresight Institute and Asia-Pacific Centre for Philanthropy and Social Investment to develop their programs.
