Nic Maclellan

Nic Maclellan works as a freelance journalist and researcher in the Pacific islands, and since 2005 has been a research associate with the Pacific Labour and Australian Horticulture project at the ISR. He has travelled extensively throughout the islands region and lived in Fiji between 1997 and 2001, working with the Pacific Concerns Resource Centre (PCRC) in Suva. He has written widely on development, human rights and labour mobility in the South Pacific and has co-authored a series of papers on seasonal worker programs in the region. He has contributed as a broadcaster and journalist to Radio Australia, Pacific magazine, Islands Business and other journals, and is author or co-author of: La France dans le Pacifique – de Bougainville à Moruroa (Editions La Découverte, Paris, 1992); After Moruroa – France in the South Pacific (Ocean Press, New York and Melbourne, 1998); Kirisimasi (PCRC, Suva, 1999); Louise Michel (Ocean Press, New York and Melbourne, 2004); Louise Michel - Vidas Rebeldes (Ocean Sur, Havana, 2006) .
