Michael Gilding

Michael Gilding is Professor of Sociology, Deputy Dean Research in the Faculty of Life and Social Sciences and President of The Australian Sociological Association. His research interests are economic sociology, technology and innovation policy, and sociology of the family. He is the author of Secrets of the Super Rich (2002), Australian Families: A Comparative Perspective (1997), and The Making and Breaking of the Australian Family (1991). Current projects include an ARC Linkage (Exploring the experience of security in the Australian Vietnamese community: practical implications for policing) and a CSIRO Flagship (From Research to Manufacturing: networks and knowledge diffusion in Australian nanotechnology).
