Margaret Simons is an award-winning freelance journalist and the author of seven books and numerous essays and articles. She is currently developing an undergraduate course in Journalism for Swinburne University of Technology and establishing The Flemington Map which will be Australia's first sustained experiment in internet based hyperlocal journalism. Margaret is the chair of the board of the Public Interest Journalism Foundation. She blogs on journalism and the media at The Content Makers and is a regular contributor to Creative Economy and Crikey.
