Dustin Halse is a PhD candidateworking within the ISR's Democracy and Justice program. His previousresearch investigated the myth and complexity of contemporary politicalviolence with reference to the ideology of al qaeda. Dustin's current research project examines how governmental and institutional forces impact upon theindependence of processes of political and social advocacy within theAustralian social welfare sector.
